Questions families often ask

If your question isn't answered here, please get in touch. We're glad to talk it through.

What is in-home care?

In-home care is support provided in a person's own home. Depending on the provider and agreed service, it can include companionship, help with personal routines, meal preparation, light housekeeping and other non-medical assistance.

Is Alivera a home health or nursing provider?

No. Alivera is a non-medical home-care service. We do not provide skilled nursing, diagnosis, treatment, physical therapy or other clinical services. Contact the team to confirm the exact services currently offered.

How do we know what kind of care is needed?

Start by describing what has become difficult, what support is already in place and what a typical day looks like. Alivera can discuss its available services and whether they appear to fit. Clinical questions should go to the person's healthcare professional.

Can care be arranged for only a few hours?

Scheduling depends on Alivera's service minimums, staff availability and the type of support requested. Contact the team to discuss your preferred schedule.

Can we arrange overnight, live-in or extended-hour care?

These arrangements depend on staffing, the client's needs and the operating model. Contact Alivera to confirm availability. Live-in care and continuous awake supervision are different arrangements.

Can care be adjusted if needs change?

Arrangements may be reviewed when a person's needs, preferences or schedule change. Contact the team so the situation can be discussed and any agreed adjustments documented.

Can family members be involved?

Yes, where the client agrees or the person contacting Alivera has appropriate legal authority. The client's privacy and preferences remain important.

Does Alivera provide dementia care?

Alivera can confirm whether dementia-aware support is available and what staff preparation and service boundaries apply. Caregivers do not diagnose or treat dementia.

Does Alivera provide transportation?

Transportation or accompaniment may be available depending on location, staffing, insurance and agency policy. Please confirm details with us before relying on this service.

How much does home care cost?

Cost depends on the type of support, schedule, duration and specific requirements. Alivera will explain applicable rates and fees before an arrangement is confirmed.

Does Medicare or insurance pay for home care?

Coverage varies by policy and service. Many non-medical home-care arrangements are paid privately, while some long-term care policies or benefit programs may provide coverage if conditions are met. Please confirm directly with your insurer or benefits administrator.
